Important News and Information:

Lost But Never Forgotten

Well-wishers left flowers at the scene of Monday's crash in Rocky Mount that killed two longtime firefighters, Posey Dillon and William Altice.

Rocky Mount residents watch crews clear the wreckage Monday after the fatal fire truck crash. Witnesses said the crash's horrific noise drew the attention of many downtown workers.

Company 8 asks that you keep the Rocky Mount Fire Department and the Franklin County Division of Public Safety in your prayers as they mourn the loss of two firefighters after a  tragic accident on Monday, July 26, 2010.

According to the Roanoke Times, "Two longtime Rocky Mount firefighters, including Chief Posey Dillon, were killed Monday and another person was hurt when a fire truck on its way to a house fire crashed into an SUV, flipped three times and landed on a car, state police said." The engine was responding to a working structure fire in Penhook. This has been a devastating loss for the community and Company 8 offers prayer and support. Funeral arrangements will be posted when known.

Thursday, July 22, 2010- Please join us in our prayers and thoughts for an active member of the Moneta Fire Department hospitalized after a motorcycle accident this afternoon.
